About The Event

Finding ways to create meaning and express grief after the death of a loved one can take many shapes. For some it might be simply a funeral service and time, but many want or need to find other ways to express this universal experience. “What about Death?” will present unique public memorials that community members and organizations have created to express this universal experience. Expect an engaging conversation and take away ideas you might use to transform your grief or of someone you love.

Co-Provocateurs

Meg Stern will present on "ghost bikes."

Joe Ferry, Hosparus Health, speaking about the annual "Hope & Healing" memorial service.

Darcie Taggart, Mighty Kindness Hoot, will present on the annual "Kind Heart Walk" memorial.

Charles Booker will speak about the memorial created for murdered loved one.

Presented in collaboration with 1619 Flux’s PROVOCATIVE PERSPECTIVES SERIES

Provocative Perspectives is a new conversation series co-produced by 1619 Flux: Art + Activism in partnership with The Community Foundation of Louisville forming a dialogue with local residents about pressing issues impacting the future of our city.
