About The Event

Are you a healthcare professional or  have you cared for a loved one in your family?  Join Susan Berla in writing about your experience! Writing allows us to transform events and feelings into real wisdom. Read and write about your caregiving experience in a supportive and understanding environment.

As a hospice nurse and educator, Susan understands the gifts and challenges of caregiving. It’s only through reading about other caregivers’ struggles, and writing about my own, that I’ve come to understand my life as a caregiver. In addition to reading and writing short narratives, participants will have the opportunity to share their work with fellow caregivers. Our workshop culminates with a letter-writing exercise: what would you tell a new caregiver?  What do you wish you had known?

Susan Berla is a hospice and palliative certified nurse, educator and writer with more than ten years of experience in the field.  She welcomes new and experienced writers who are interested in building community.
